Canowindra Celebrates Volunteer Week With Vibrant Community Showcase

Canowindra embraced National Volunteer Week with a heartwarming celebration of community spirit and service. More than 30 volunteer groups gathered to showcase the vital work they do to support and strength­en the town, drawing in locals and visitors alike to learn, connect, and celebrate.

The event, held in the Canowindra Ser­vices Club Hall, highlighted the diversity and dedication of the region’s volunteer or­ganisations. From emergency services and sporting clubs to arts groups, health sup­port services, animal rescue, vintage car club and more, each group set up displays and offered hands-on activities to engage the public and share their mission.

This inspiring community gathering was made possible thanks to the tireless efforts of local organiser Deb Rutter. Her commit­ment and passion brought the event to life, ensuring that each group had a platform to shine and be recognised for their contribu­tions.

Residents praised the event for not only raising awareness of the volunteer op­portunities available but also for fostering a stronger sense of unity in the town. At­tendees were able to ask questions, sign up to volunteer, and express appreciation to those who give their time so generously.
