Canowindra Butchery BBQ Masters And Street Party Returns

1 April, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Sizzling action at the 2025 Canowindra BBQ Masters.

The wait is almost over! From 11 – 19 April, the skies above our historic town will transform into a kaleidoscope of colour as the 2026 Canowindra International Balloon Challenge returns.

While the sight of dozens of hot air balloons drifting over the Belubula Valley at sunrise is the heart of the event, the 2026 program is packed with activities that celebrate the very best of our community.

One of those events, which is a huge crowd favourite, is set to return bigger than ever and .this year is proudly sponsored by the Canowindra Butchery.

Saturday, 11 April the Canowindra Butchery BBQ Masters and Welcome Street Party will be held on Gaskill Street. The Canowindra Progress Association presents this free event for the town, locals and tourists alike, with craft stalls and food trucks lining Gaskill Street.

All the meat and prizes for the BBQ competition will be generously donated by Canowindra Butchery so you can guarantee the competition between the BBQers is going to be fierce.

Back by popular demand, The Neil Gill band will be performing all the hits that people will love to sing along to and dance the night away.

Gaskill Street closes to traffic at 3pm and reopens at 5pm ready for the party.

This year, there are many events that form part of the Ballon Week with some events being ticketed and expected to reach capacity. To view the full program and secure your spot head to the website today and download the official Canowindra Live app – www.canowindrachallenge.org.au
