Last Wednesday the monthly meeting of the Canowindra Business and Progress Association was well attended. There are a lot of matters which the Association is currently looking at, with representations being made to Council plus other relevant bodies, including signage around the village, streetscape issues and discussion around the DA for the Service Station in Gaskill Street. Of real importance is the need to create a Canowindra Strategic Plan for the village and surrounds for the next 10-20 years. This is a big task and the Association would welcome everyone to become involved.
If you belong to an association, a sports group, school association or are a business owner or individual then your input is required.
This document will essentially be a guide to where we want the village to be in 10-20 years’ time and along the way what is required to ensure it remains a significant historic village and a viable one.
This document will also be able to highlight what grants may be able to be applied for to assist in this journey. New members are always welcome at the Association and the meetings are held on the fourth
Wednesday of each month at the Canowindra Services Club. One for the diaries – Save the date for the 21st March 2020 for the Canowindra Street Party and Village Open Day. It will be a great day to showcase the village and to welcome new people to the village.
Call Graham Beasley, the President of the association on 6344 1009 or Vice President Arthur Falconer on 0408 416 034 if you would like further information.
