MENS BOWLS
Last Saturday saw the green at the Canowindra Bowling Club full of players and action. A semi final of consistency singles was played between Roger and Tedd, in what was a close game. Roger got the upper hand towards the end of the game coming away with a win 153-142. Three mixed pairs were also played, with Cec and Libby Balcombe leading throughout the game to win 33-19 over Ken Fisher
and Bobbie Turner. Eryn and Bruce had a comfortable win over Penny Nash and Pat wining 34-23. It was a day of close games with Dool and Joyce Middleton coming up against Cyril and Karen Cox to win 28-24.

The action continues this week with something on each day. Thursday is the Mixed Mufti Bowls and names need to be in by 1.30pm for a 2pm start. There will also be Bingo on at 11am and all are welcome to attend. Friday is Barefoot Twilight Bowls commencing
at 6pm, so be sure to have your names in by 5.30pm. Saturday will be consistency singles finals with R Traves Vs. C Webb, Marker M
Lawrence. Mixed Pairs- M Wright and G Haydon Vs. I Nelder and L Burgess. C and L Balcombe Vs. K Walker and S O’Malveny.
R Lynch and S McDonald Vs. V Mirto and J McNaught. S Kirkman and D Slattery V Nancy.

Sunday there will be a mixed mufti triples day with players reminded to arrive by 9.00am for a 9.30am start. There will be two games of 15 ends played and BCIB Insurance sponsors the day. The Winners will be awarded $180 and runners up to receive
$120. The cost is $60 per team with lunch included.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of three matches played on Tuesday 4th October.
MINOR SINGLES – 2nd round – Sandy McDonald defeated Diane Slattery 25-22. Marker Betty Jenkins.
CONSISTENCY – 3rd round – Margaret Gosper defeated Nancy Morrow 153-92. Marker Heather Hoad.
HANDICAP THREE BOWL PAIRS – 1st round – Joyce Middleton and Gwen Haydon defeated Jill Messenger and Christine Pickard 25-17.
ROSE BOWL FINAL – Jill Messenger Joyce Middleton sends one down the green. won on a forfeit from Colleen Crump.

There were two social games played one pairs and one triples. Linda Miller and Dianne Mooney defeated Jeanette Wheeldon and Ellen Petty 20-15. Joice McNaught and Daph Bryant defeated Shirley Robson, Moyna Rue and Deanna Noble 17-16. Joice played lead and second. Three teams represented Canowindra at Millthorpe’s Gala Day on Wednesday 28th September. The teams were Bobbie Turner, Nancy Morrow and Deanna Noble, Betty Jenkins, Joice McNaught and Sandy McDonald and Joyce Middleton, Daph Bryant
and Gwen Haydon. No trophies, but Daph Bryant won the raffle and Deanna Noble, Bobbie Turner, Sandy McDonald, Joice Mc-
Naught, Betty Jenkins, Gwen Haydon and Joyce Middleton all won Lucky Door prizes. Nancy missed out. They all enjoyed the day of bowls and fellowship.
