MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday a Major Pairs match was played with Steve Kirkman and Ian Nelder against Bruce and Cyril Webb. Bruce and Cyril led the game up to 16 ends with the score being 17-14. Then Steve and Ian were able to win four of the last five ends to win the match 23-18.
A Major Singles match was also played with Roger Traves against Crock Watt. Roger won the match 32-10. It is good to see new bowlers like Crock nominating to play more experienced bowlers. Last Sunday the fourth round of Pennants was played. The number 4’s went down to Manildra 10 points to nil and the number 7’s went down to Manildra 10 points to nil.
Friday March 29 – Twilight barefoot mixed mufti bowls with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends.
Saturday March 30 – Minor Singles – T Tuimauga v N Delaney and Marker D Beath. Major Pairs – R Symons and G Fairley v S Kirkman and I Nelder. V Mirto and T Mooney v P Taylor and R Traves.
Sunday March 31 – The fifth round of Pennants to be played. The number 4’s play Grenfell at Grenfell. Teams are M Lawrence, A Wyburn, M Cramp and P Taylor. R Traves, D Beath, R Symons and N Knight. T Tuimauga, A Robson, S Kirkman and L Nunn. The number 7’s play Gooloogong at home. Teams are P Lees, Z Lees, N Delaney and M Traves. I Nelder, W Fisher, D Watt and B McClintock. V Mirto, M McMullen, T Mooney and M Wright.
Sunday badge draw will be $200 drawn between 5pm and 6pm. Must be in the club to win. Raffles to be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from 4pm. Wednesday badge draw will be $250. Friday badge draw will be $500. Bingo this Thursday 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of 3rd round of the District Pennants. Parkes No. 4’s defeated Canowindra No. 4’s at Canowindra with an aggregate of 43-29, winning one rink and the second was a tie, Parkes scoring 4 1/2 points and Canowindra 1/2 a point.
The raffle was won by Christine Pickard.
The 40 Club winners were Jan McPhee (Parkes) and Diane Slattery. A special thanks to the Umpire Ron Bryant and to Mark (Sparky) Wright for preparing the green.
The Canowindra No. 2’s defeated Cowra at Cowra with the aggregate 40-28, winning one rink each, Canowindra scoring 4 points and Cowra 1 point.
Canowindra No. 2’s play their last Pennant match against Cowra No. 1’s at home on Thursday, 28th March.
The Canowindra 4’s have a bye next Tuesday, so it will be social bowls as usual.
