MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday a minor pairs match was played with Nick Delaney and Paul Markcrow against Matt Cramp and Matt Mc- Mullen. After 14 ends Matt and Matt had a handy lead 16-5 but after that Nick and Paul won the next six ends to lead 19-16. Nick and Paul won the game 19-17.

Saturday September 1 – Consistency Singles – B Webb v L Nunn and Marker T Tuimauga. P Lees v G Fairley and Marker P Kennedy. P Makin v B McClintock and Marker D Beath. T Mooney v N Delaney and Marker C Webb.

Sunday September 2 – Major Triples – S Kirkman, C Webb and B Webb v B Lees, Z Lees and P Lees. Consistency Singles – D Beath v M McMullen and Marker V Mirto. Nominations are now called for the O’Brien Cup.

Commencing this Sunday and on the 1st Sunday of every month, Canowindra Bowling Club will present free live music supporting regional talent between 3.00pm and 6.00pm. This will be in conjunction with barefoot bowls and raffles and the restaurant open from 5.00pm.

Sunday badge draw will be $1,100 and to be drawn between 5.00pm and 6.00pm. You must be in the club to win. Raffles to be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from4.00pm. Friday badge draw will be $900.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of matches played 28 August – In the Handicap Pairs Semi Final L Thornberry and C Pickard defeated D Bryant and D Noble 17-15. The final to be played next week between L Thornberry and C Pickard against L Stevenson and J Davies.

In our Consistency event L Balcombe def J McNaught and G Haydon def R Tatterson. We had two games of social bowls, one was a triples with L Miller, M Wilson and S Lynch defeating L Burgess, N Morrow and J Davies 27-10.

We played a fours match with J Roth, L Stevenson, J Wheeldon and B Jenkins defeating P Carroll, P Carroll, M Rue and S McDonald 29-13.

Matches drawn for next week 4 September in Consistency are – D Mooney v Jenny Middleton (marker G Haydon) S McDonald v M Rue (marker N Morrow) D Noble v  Jenkins (marker R Tatterson) D Bryant v J Messenger (marker J McNaught) A luncheon was held at the Canowindra Golf Club Restaurant to farewell our hard working Secretary Ellen Petty. Our sincere best wishes go to Ellen and her husband Ed in their new surroundings.
