MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday three consistency singles matches were played. Vinnie Mirto played Kevin Walker. After 16 ends Vinnie held a handy lead of 129-71 and at this point Kevin decided to pull the pin and give the game to Vinnie. Cyril Webb played Peter Taylor where Peter took control early in the game winning 150-130. Ron Symons played Tot Fisher where Ron had a comfortable win 155-125.

Last Sunday Steve Kirkman played Tony Tuimauga in a consistency singles match. Tony led throughout the game winning the match 154-136.

Saturday August 25 – Minor Pairs – N Delaney and Paul Markcrow v M McMullen and M Cramp. Consistency Singles – B McClintock v P Makin and Marker I Nelder.

Sunday August 26 – Minor Triples – G Fairley, T Tuimauga and L Nunn v S Kirkman, P Makin and N Delaney. Consistency Singles – I Nelder v V Mirto and Marker D Beath.

Nominations are now called for the O’Brien Cup. Sunday badge draw will be $1,050 to be drawn between 5.00pm and 6.00pm. Must be in the club to win. Raffles to be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from 4.00pm. Friday badge draw will be $800. Prompt payment would be appreciated to those bowlers who have not yet paid their memberships.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results from matches played August 21st in the Handicap Pairs – L Stevenson and J Davies def K Cox and D Mooney 22-9. L Thornberry and C Pickard def D Slattery and J Messenger 22-9.

There were two games of social bowls played, a triples between J Wheeldon, D Bryant and D Noble v M Rue, S McDonald and B Jenkins 29-11.

A game of pairs was also played between J Daly and J McNaught and P Carroll and M Wilson 16-22.

The Semi Final of the Handicap Pairs is to be played next week between L Stevenson and J Davies and L Thornberry and C Pickard. We will also commence the Consistency games next week. See the board for matches set down.
