MEN’S BOWLS
The winners of twilight barefoot bowls last Friday night were Jeanette and Norm from Tamworth and Tot Fisher and the runners up were Bill and Darrelle also from Tamworth and Steve Kirkman.

Last Sunday two major singles matches were played. David Beath played Garry Fairley with David having a comfortable win. In the other match Nick Delaney  played Tony Tuimauga where Tony was always in control of the game winning 31-14.

Friday May 4 – Be sure to be at the club by 6.00pm if you wish to participate in the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $600. This will be followed by twilight barefoot bowls with names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start.

Saturday May 5 – The No 5’s pennant team travel to Grenfell this weekend to compete in the zone playoffs. The bus will leave the club at 7.00am. Teams are – A Wyburn, P Taylor, D Beath and R Traves. S Kirkman, A Robson, V Mirto and B Lees. P Lees, P Markcrow, B Webb and M Lawrence. Good luck to the No 5’s.

Nominations for the Presidents Pairs, Seniors Pairs and Open Pairs close this Friday May 4. Nominations are now called for the major and minor fours.

Wednesday badge draw will be $250 and Friday badge draw will be $1,600. Bingo this Thursday 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of two matches played on Tuesday, 1st May.

MAJOR PAIRS – Semi-Finals: Betty Jenkins and Dianne Mooney defeated Libby Balcombe and Jo Davies 22-21. Jill Messenger and Colleen Crump defeated Radka Tatterson and Ellen Petty 19-13.

There were 3 games of social bowls played 3 two bowl triples. Penny Nash, Joyce Middleton and Gwen Haydon defeated Bobbie Turner, Liz Thornberry and Deanna Noble 23-11. Moyna Rue and Christine Pickard defeated Shirley Robson, Jenny Daly and Nancy Morrow 17-12. Leanne Stevenson, Joice McNaught and Sandy McDonald defeated Jeanette Wheeldon and Daph Bryant 19-15.

The Lucky Draw was won by Leanne Stevenson with No. 5. We wish our 6 District Senior Pairs teams good bowling when they compete at Parkes commencing on 7th May.

A Trivia Night is being held at the Canowindra Bowling Club on Saturday, 12th May, 6pm for a 6.30pm start. $10 per person – tables of eight. Individual entries are welcome with good prizes being awarded on the night.
