CANOWINDRA MEN’S BOWLS NEWS

No championship games were played last weekend due to the ladies running their triples tournament, which proved to be very successful. Thanks to Dool and Sparky who helped the ladies out at the last minute by filling in for a team who could not be there last Sunday.

Saturday July 30- Mixed mufti bowls will be on, with names to be in by 1.30pm for a 2.00pm start.

Sunday July 31- Major triples semi finals are on, with J Preston, B & C Webb, V K Walker, D Byrne, G Wilson, T Mooney, B Lees, V Mirto, V M Baldwin, M Wright, and I Nelder participating.

Mixed mufti bowls will continue on Thursday July 28 with names to be in by 1.30pm for a 2.00pm start. All are welcome, and people can bring a friend as well. The mens bowls wood raffle was a great success. The winner of the trailer load of wood was Barry Rue. We would like to thank our volunteers who sold tickets, Terry and Kevin, Ron and Max, Bob Robson and Bob Bates. We’d like to thank to Nancy for organising the date for the raffle as well. Thanks also to Tracy Bates for the work of cutting the load of wood and use of his trailer. Next time we would like a few more volunteers from mens bowls to do some work.

On Saturday 30 July we will have a working bee, commencing at 9.30am. Remember more hands make light work. Coming Event: Our trivia and curry night will be on Saturday August 20. Be there at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. The cost is $25 per head. Call the club to book your table. Phone 63441605.
