Last Saturday the major pairs final was played with Peter Taylor and Roger Traves against Allan Wyburn and Phil Lees. The scores were close throughout the game with Peter and Roger winning the final 15-14. The minor pairs final was also played with Max Baldwin and Garry Fairley against Steve Fisher and Pat Kennedy. Max and Garry won the final 22-16 leading throughout the game.

A major triples match was played with Nick Delaney, Phil and Brent Lees against Matt Cramp (sub), Cyril and Bruce Webb. It was a one sided affair with Bruce’s team winning the game 25-6. Last Sunday an O’Brien Cup match was played with Steve Kirkman and Ian Nelder against Garry Fairley and Terry Mooney.

After the 13th end the scores were close with Steve and Ian leading 12-10. But then the wheels fell off for Steve and Ian who did not score another point for the rest of the game. Garry and Terry won the game 26-12. Good luck to Phil Lees who plays Gerard Beath in the Champion of Champions singles at Cowra this Saturday.

This Sunday the club hosts the Champion of Champion pairs. Good luck to Peter Taylor and Roger Traves who play Charlie Bryant and Graham Amery.

Saturday July 29 – Major triples final – J Preston, C Webb and B Webb v P Kennedy, A Robson and M Lawrence. Consistency singles- A Wyburn v R Traves. Marker D Beath.

There were two games of social triples played. Bobbie Turner, Ellen Petty & Marion Wilson defeated Jean Roth, Deanna Noble & Moyna Rue 22-8. Linda Miller, Penny Nash & Jill Messenger defeated Jenny Daley, Joice McNaught & Jeanette Wheeldon 17-11. The Lucky Draw was won by Daph Bryant with No. 8.

Nancy Morrow, Jo Davies & Colleen Crump represented our Club at Forbes Presidents Day held on Wednesday 19th July, but had only played 6 ends when rain stopped play.
