MEN’S BOWLS
Last Friday night 14 mixed mufti triples teams competed for prize money proudly sponsored by BCIB Insurance. The winners were the team of Jenny Middleton, Jeanette Wheeldon and Marion Wilson. The runners up were the team of Steve Kirkman, Joyce Middleton and Marg Gosper.

Last Sunday the fourth round of pennants was played. The No 5’s won 9 points to 1 against Parkes while the No 7’s went down to Gooloogong 10 points to nil. This Friday night teams from the business houses will compete.

Saturday April 1- Major fours- B Webb, C Webb, J Preston, M Wright, V T Mooney, N Delaney, B Lees, V Mirto, P Kennedy, P Taylor, P Lees, D Beath, V K Walker, A Wyburn, A Robson and M Lawrence.
Sunday April 2- Fifth round of pennants to be played. The No 5’s play Caragabal at home. Teams are B Webb, B Lees, J Preston, C Webb, M Lawrence, V Mirto, S Fisher, P Kennedy, D Beath, P Lees, P Taylor and A Wyburn. The No 7’s play Forbes at Forbes. Teams are I Nelder, B Bates, N Knight and K Perry. T Mooney, S Kirkman, G Fairley and B Robson. M McMullen, N Delaney, M Baldwin and M Cramp.

Nominations are now called for the major and minor pairs as well as the major and minor triples. Nominations are also called for the district triples, open, presidents and senior pairs, open, presidents and senior singles.

WOMEN’S BOWLS TRAVEL THE COUNTRYSIDE
The Canowindra No. 3 Pennant Team travelled to Parkes Railway Diggers on Thursday 23rd March however it was too wet to play. As Cowra had already won the No. 3 District Pennant there was no need to reschedule the match, Daph Bryant won the raffle.

Linda Miller, Shirley Robson & Betty Jenkins went to Orange Newstead’s President’s Day held at Orange Ex-services Country Club on Thursday 23rd March. Linda & Betty both won parcels off the green and Shirley’s bowl was closest to President Trish Wilson’s bowl. Betty Jenkins won a 200 club prize of $20. It was a very friendly day.

Results of two matches played on Tuesday 28th March. Pairs Championship Final Libby Balcombe and Colleen Crump defeated Sandy McDonald 18-14. Congratulations to Libby & Colleen the Pairs Championship winners for 2017. Major Singles 2nd round Gwen Haydon defeated Shirley Robson 25-19. Thanks to the marker Daph Bryant.
