MEN’S BOWLS
The winners of twilight barefoot bowls last Friday night were Steve Kirkman, Jo Davis and Glen Burrows and the runners up were Penny Nash, Larry Nunn and Joice McNaught.
Last Saturday a major pairs match was played with Terry Mooney and Vinnie Mirto against Cyril and Bruce Webb. This was a hard fought game with Bruce and Cyril scoring one shot on the last end to win the match 16-15.
Last Sunday the fifth round of pennants was played with the No 5’s going down to Parkes Town 9 points to 1 while the No 7’s won against Cowra 9 points to 1.
Friday April 13 – Be sure to be at the club by 6.00pm if you wish to participate in the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $500. This will be followed by twilight barefoot bowls with names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start.
Saturday April 14 – Major pairs – P Taylor and R Traves v A Wyburn and P Lees. Minor pairs – R Lynch and B McClintock v D Watt and L Nunn. W Fisher and P Makin v P Markcrow and N Delaney. Minor singles – G Burrows v S Kirkman, Marker I Nelder.
Sunday April 15 – The No 5’s play Parkes Railway at Parkes. The bus will leave the club at 8.30am. Teams are A Wyburn, P Taylor, D Beath and R Traves. S Kirkman, Z Lees, A Robson and B Lees. P Markcrow, P Kennedy, B Webb and M Lawrence. The No 7’s play Gooloogong at home. Teams are C Webb, B McClintock, I Nelder and T Tuimauga. D Watt, P Makin, N Delaney and P Lees. T Mooney, L Nunn, T Fisher and M McMullen.
WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of two matches played on Tuesday, 10th April.
MAJOR PAIRS – 1st round – Betty Jenkins and Dianne Mooney defeated Sandy McDonald and Christine Pickard 23-14.
MAJOR PAIRS – 2nd round – Radka Tatterson and Ellen Petty defeated Leanne Stevenson and Diane Slattery 20-16.
There was one game of social fours played. Bobbie Turner, Linda Miller, Jill Messenger and Daph Bryant defeated Penny Nash, Jenny Daly, Liz Thornberry and Moyna Rue 26-12.
The Lucky Draw was won by Liz Thornberry with No. 23. Our April monthly meeting will be held after bowls on Tuesday, 17th April. Congratulations to Cowra on winning the No. 4 District Pennant for 2018.
