MEN’S BOWLS
The winners of the twilight barefoot bowls last Friday night were Penny Nash and David McNaught while the runners up were Jo Davis and Nathan Walker.

Friday April 6 – Be sure to be at the club by 6.00pm if you wish to participate in the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $460. This will be followed by twilight barefoot bowls with names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start.

Saturday April 7 – Major Pairs – G Fairley and P Kennedy v M McMullen and M Cramp. S Kirkman and I Nelder v A Robson and P Jones. P Taylor and R Traves v A Wyburn and P Lees. T Mooney and V Mirto v C Webb and B Webb.

Sunday April 8 – Fifth round of pennants to be played. No 5’s play Parkes Town at home. Please note the 10.00am start, Teams are: A Wyburn, P Taylor, D Beath and R Traves. S Kirkman, A Robson, V Mirto and B Lees. P Lees, Z Lees, B Webb and M Lawrence. No 7’s play Cowra at home. Teams are: T Mooney, B McClintock, N Delaney and K Walker. C Webb, P Makin, M Cramp and M McMullen. D Watt, L Nunn, T Fisher and I Nelder.

Wednesday badge draw will be $350 and Friday badge draw will be $1200. Bingo this Thursday 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
The last round of the No. 4 Pennants was played on Thursday, 29th March. Canowindra played Parkes at home. Canowindra defeated Parkes with an aggregate of 46-37, both teams winning one rink, Canowindra scoring 4 points and Parkes 1 point.

Thank you to Ellen Petty for umpiring this match. The raffle was won by Linda Miller and the Lucky Draw by Libby Balcombe with No. 3.

Results of two matches played on Tuesday 3rd April.

MAJOR SINGLES – Semi Final: Nancy Morrow defeated Sandy McDonald 25-19. Thanks to the marker Leanne Stevenson.

MAJOR PAIRS – 1st round: Moyna Rue and Jenny Middleton defeated Daph Bryant and Gwen Haydon 20-11. There were two social games played one fours and one triples. Pauline Carroll, Jill Messenger and Dianne Mooney had a 15 all draw against Linda Miller, Jo Davies and Betty Jenkins. Radka Tatterson, Jeanette Wheeldon, Ellen Petty and Libby Balcombe defeated Liz Thornberry, Deanna Noble and Christine Pickard 17-16.

The Lucky Draw was won by Tracey Fitzgerald with No. 29. Our good wishes go with our 5 Canowindra bowlers who are competing in the District Singles being held at Forbes beginning on Monday, 9th April. Good bowling girls. We have one member celebrating a birthday this month, Marion Wilson on the 14th. A very happy birthday Marion.
