MEN’S BOWLS
Three minor singles matches were played last Saturday. Garry Fairley played Nick Delaney. This was a ding dong battle with the lead changing several times during the game. Nick was able to score two shots on the last end to win the game 31-30. Tot Fisher played Larry Nunn where Tot took control of the game winning 34-18. Matt Cramp played Crock Watt with Matt winning the game.

Last Sunday the second round of pennants was played. The No 5’s won against Parkes Town 9 points to 1 while the No 7’s went down to Cowra 9 points to 1.

Saturday March 17 – Minor Singles – P Makin v M McMullen and Marker L Nunn. T Fisher v G Burrows and Marker S Kirkman. N Delaney v T Tuimauga and Marker B McClintock. Major Singles – I Nelder v M Wright and Marker C Webb. B Webb v D Beath and Marker T Mooney. B Lees v P Markcrow and Marker P Taylor.

Sunday March 18 – Third round of pennants. No 5’s play Parkes Railway at home. Please note the 10.00am start. Teams are A Wyburn, P Taylor, D Beath and R Traves. S Kirkman, A Robson, V Mirto and B Lees. G Burrows, P Markcrow, B Webb and M Lawrence. No. 7’s play Gooloogong at Gooloogong. Teams are T Mooney, B McClintock, N Delaney and K Walker. C Webb, M McMullen, I Nelder and T Tuimauga. D Watt, T Fisher, Z Lees and P Lees.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Result of the 4th round of the No. 4 Pennant played at Parkes Railway Diggers on Thursday 8th March. Canowindra won with an aggregate of 32-28, each team winning one rink Canowindra scoring 4 points and Parkes Railway Diggers 1 point.

Result of the 2nd and last round of the No. 3 Pennant Played at Parkes. Parkes defeated Canowindra with an aggregate of 50-35, each team winning one rink. Parkes scoring 4 points and Canowindra 1 point. Canowindra has won the Central Western District No. 3 Pennant for 2018 with 5.1/2 points to 4.1/2 points. We will now compete in the Playoffs being held at Cowra in May.

Result of the 5th round of the No. 4 Pennant played at Parkes on Tuesday 13th March. Canowindra won the match winning both rinks and scoring the maximum 5 points.

Results Tuesday 13th:
MAJOR SINGLES – 3rd round – Colleen Crump defeated Deanna Noble 25-15. Thanks to the marker Daph Bryant. Shirley Robson, Leanne Stevenson and Radka Tatterson defeated Pauline Carroll, Jeanette Wheeldon and Liz Thornberry 14-13.

Joyce Middleton and Dianne Mooney had a 13 all draw against Jenny Daly, Ellen Petty and Jo Davies.
