MEN’S BOWLS
Last Friday night eight teams of pairs competed in twilight barefoot bowls. The winners were Doug Nash and Jeanette Wheeldon and the runners up were Glen Burrows and Jenny Middleton.

Friday February 23 – Be sure to be at the club by 6.00pm if you wish to participate in the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $330. This will be followed by twilight barefoot bowls with names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends with the entry fee being $21 per team. The scale of prize money will depend on the number of teams nominated.

Saturday February 24 – Major singles – S Kirkman v B MacKintosh and the Marker is I Nelder. B Lees v T Mooney and the Marker is D Beath. Minor singles – P Markcrow v T Tuimauga and the Marker is G Fairley.

Sunday February 25 – Major pairs – M Lawrence and Z Lees v S Kirkman and I Nelder.

Major singles – C Webb v V Mirto and the Marker is B Webb.

Wednesday badge draw will be $150 and Friday badge draw will be $600. Bingo this Thursday 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of two matches played on Tuesday 20th February.
MINOR SINGLES – Semi-finals – Marion Wilson defeated Radka Tatterson 25-8. Jenny Middleton defeated Betty Jenkins 25-17. Thanks to the markers Jill Messenger and Liz Thornberry.

There were three social games played one three bowl pairs, and two two bowl triples. Ellen Petty and Gwen Haydon defeated Jeanette Wheeldon and Dianne Mooney. Leanne Stevenson, Nancy Morrow and Libby Balcombe defeated Linda Miller, Deanna Noble and Christine Pickard. Joyce Middleton, Daph Bryant and Colleen Crump defeated Jenny Daly, Moyna Rue and Sandy McDonald.

The January Points Score was won by Nancy Morrow and Jo Davies. A February birthday was missed last week, Jenny Daly on 15th, a lovely cake was made for our newest member to celebrate. Our best wishes go with our No. 4 Pennant Teams as they play Forbes at home on Tuesday, 27th February. Good bowling girls. They have a bye on Thursday, 1st March.
