WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of matches played 15 August in Rose Bowl Handicap Singles: Jo Davies defeated Penny Nash 25-13. Libby Balcombe defeated Moyna Rue 25-21. Dianne Mooney won on a forfeit from Dianne Slattery. We had 3 games of social bowls: Linda Miller, Ellen Petty and Gwen Haydon defeated Jeanette Wheeldon, Liz Thornberry & Dianne Mooney 17-10. Betty Jenkins and Bobbie Turner defeated Jenny Daley & Joice McNaught 18-7. Leanne Stevenson, Nancy Morrow and Christine Pickard defeated Deanna Noble, Joyce Middleton and Daph Bryant 20-9.

Monthly point score for July was won by Marion Wilson with 20 points. We would like to acknowledge our August bowlers having birthdays this month – Gwen Haydon and Dianne Slattery.

MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday the minor singles final was played with Pat Kennedy against Jono Preston. After 12 ends Jono had a handy lead of 15-4 but then Pat was able to come back and trail by only three or four shots up to the second last end when Jono led 30-27. On the last end Jono dropped his guard letting Pat score four shots to win the final 31-30.

A consistency singles match was also played with Matthew Lawrence against Ken Fisher, with Matthew winning 150-140. Saturday August 19 – Turn around triples mixed mufti bowls. Men and women in teams. Winners will receive $180 and runners up will receive $60. Names in by 12.30pm for 1.00pm start. Two games of 12 ends with entry fee being $21 per team. First 14 teams accepted.

Sunday August 20 – Consistency singles – T Mooney v M Cramp and Marker is M McMullen. B Lees v M Lawrence and Marker is K Fisher. A Wyburn v R Traves and Marker is I Nelder. C Webb v G Fairley and Marker is S Kirkman.
