MEN’S BOWLS NEWS
Last Sunday three games of mixed pairs were played. Mat and Marg had a comfortable win 49-23 against Tracy and Wendy Bates. Lorne and Duncan led throughout their game against Radka and Nick to win 35-19. Joice and Vinnie had a comfortable win 37-23 against Nigel and Betty Hodge. Teddy, Dool and Roger travelled to Grenfell last weekend and they were awarded third prize in a triples tournament.
At the time of writing, games have not yet been drawn for this weekend. Bowlers will be notified if they are playing this weekend and a list will be on the notice board by Wednesday.
On Sunday October 9 the mixed mufti triples day will be on. Players should arrive at 9.00am for a 9.30am start. Two games of 15 ends will be played. Winners will be awarded $180 and runners up will receive $120. The cost is $60 per team with lunch included.
Mixed mufti bowls will continue on Thursday September 15 with names in by 1.30pm for a 2.00pm start. All are welcome.
WOMEN’S BOWLS NEWS
On Tuesday September 13, in third round consistency action, Diane Slattery defeated Ellen Petty 156-134, and Betty Jenkins defeated Sheryn O’Malveney 153-142. The rose bowl semi final saw Jill Messenger defeat Gwen Haydon 25-12. The markers were Deanna Noble, Dianne Mooney & Shirley Robson.
In social triples action Joice McNaught, Libby Balcombe and Christine Pickard defeated Jeanette Wheeldon, Joyce Middleton
and Colleen Crump 27-15. Daph Bryant, Linda Miller and Moyna Rue defeated Lorne Burgess, Penny Nash and Sandy McDonald 30-12. The Lucky Draw was won by Libby Balcombe with ticket number 6.
