Men’s Bowls
Last Saturday a semi-final of Major Fours was played with Pat Kennedy, Peter Taylor, David Beath and Roger Traves against Phil Lees, Brent Lees, Zac Lees and Michael Traves. Roger’s team got off to a handy lead with the score being 16-5 after 11 ends. Then Brent’s team scored 12 shots in the next six ends to trail 18-17. Roger’s team scored 7 shots in the last four ends to win the match 23-18.
Last Sunday the final of the Major Singles was played with Brent Lees against Dool Beath. After 15 ends Dool led 15-9, then Brent was able to bridge the gap to level the scores at 22 all after 27 ends. For the rest of the game Dool took control to win the final 32-25.
Saturday May 18 Minor Pairs – L Nunn and D Watt v N Delaney and P Markcrow.
Sunday May 19 Major Fours – V Mirto, T Mooney, P Markcrow and T Tuimauga v B Webb, C Webb, B McClintock and S Kirkman.
Nominations for the Consistency Singles and O’Brien Cup will close Sunday May 19.

Women’s Bowls
Results from Dubbo Pennant Play Offs – No 4s were won by Orange City; No 2s won by Dubbo West. These teams are now off to Kingscliff for the State Play Offs in August.
The District Fours being played in Forbes this week – unfortunately Canowindra teams were not successful in this event. Social bowls played 14 May were D. Slattery, D. Bryant and D. Noble had a draw against N. Morrow, Joyce Middleton and S. McDonald 18 all. M. Wilson, J. Wythes, C. Crump and B. Jenkins def L. Miller, L. Miller, R. Tattersom and C. Pickard 17-13.
It was just lovely to have Marion back with us.
Today two teams travelled to Orange City Bowling Club for a Charity Day. The Charity was “Give 5 for Kids”. Over $1,000 was raised by the lady bowlers. Jo Davies won a spider prize; Jill Messenger won a prize in the 100 club. Both teams won their games and had an enjoyable meal and a lot of comradery with their fellow bowlers.
