MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday a Major Triples match was played with Steve Kirkman, Cyril and Bruce Webb against Zac and Brent Lees and Vinnie Mirto (sub for Phil Lees). Brent’s team led throughout the game winning 26-12. Two Consistency Singles matches were also played. Terry Mooney played Nick Delaney where Nick had a comfortable lead throughout the game winning 151-129. In the other match David Beath played Matt McMullen where Matt led throughout the game until the last end. David was able to win the last end and the game 153-152.

Last Sunday Bruce Webb played Larry Nunn in a Consistency Singles match where Bruce had a comfortable win 157-113.

Saturday September 8: Minor Triples – G Fairley, T Tuimauga and L Nunn v S Kirkman, P Markcrow and N Delaney. Consistency Singles – V Mirto v I Nelder and marker is D Beath.

Sunday September 9: Minor Pairs – G Fairley and S Kirkman v N Delaney and P Markcrow. Consistency Singles – M Lawrence v D Beath and marker I Nelder. B McClintock v N Knight and marker is T Mooney. P Sargent v T Tuimauga and marker is V Mirto.

Nominations are now called for the O’Brien Cup.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of games played September 4th – Finals of the Handicap Pairs was won by Jo Davies and Leanne Stevenson. Runners up were Liz Thornberry and Christine Pickard. This game went down to the wire as an extra end was needed. Leanne and Jo won 17-14.

Results of the Consistency Singles matches played were – Jenny Middleton def Dianne Mooney; Moyna Rue def Sandy McDonald; Betty Jenkins def Deanna Noble and Jill Messenger def Daphne Bryant.

There were two games of social bowls played – J Wythes, P Nash and J Wheeldon def L Miller, P Carroll and D Slattery 39-10. C Crump, J Roth and L Balcombe def L Burgess, and M Wilson 16-13. Matches drawn for next week September 11 are: Consistency Singles – L Balcombe v G Haydon and marker S McDonald. Jenny Middleton v M Rue and marker J Davies. B Jenkins v J Messenger and marker D Noble. C Pickard v P Nash and marker D Bryant.
