MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday two Major Pairs matches were played. Nick Delaney and Dool Beath played Barney Robson and Teddy Lawrence. The scores were close throughout the game with Nick and Dool winning 18-15. In the other match Roger Traves and Peter Taylor had a comfortable win against Vinnie Mirto and Terry Mooney.

Last Sunday the final round of Pennants was played. The number 4’s went down to Dubbo Railway 10 points to nil while the number 7’s had a bye.

Friday April 12 – Twilight barefoot mixed mufti bowls with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends.
Saturday April 13 – Major Singles – T Tuimauga v B Lees and Marker N Delaney. D Beath v P Lees and Marker L Nunn. Major Pairs – R Symons and G Fairley v R Traves and P Taylor.
Sunday April 14 – Major Fours – P Kennedy, P Taylor, D Beath and R Traves v D Watt, W Fisher, A Wyburn and I Nelder.

WOMEN’S BOWLS

The Canowindra No. 4’s played their last match on Thursday, 4th April. Canowindra defeated Parkes at Parkes with an aggregate of 43-36, winning both rinks and scoring the maximum 5 points.

Major Singles Semi Final played on Tuesday, 9th April. Jo Davies defeated Libby Balcombe. Thanks to the marker Deanna Noble. Two matches were played in the Pairs Championship. Diane Slattery and Betty Jenkins defeated Joyce Middleton and Liz Thornberry 15-11, which was played on Monday, 8th April. Jill Messenger and Colleen Crump defeated Gwen Haydon and Dianne Mooney 20-9.

There were two social games played. Daph Bryant and Jenny Middleton defeated Pauline Carroll and Christine Pickard 28-13. Penny Nash and Nancy Morrow defeated Jeanette Wheeldon and Joice McNaugbt 25-18.

The Major Singles Final will be played next week between Jo Davies and Gwen Haydon with the marker Libby Balcombe.
