MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday a Major Singles match was played with David Beath against Cyril Webb. Up to 31 ends David trailed Cyril who led 27-25. Then David scored six shots on the last three ends to win the match 31-27.

A Major Pairs match was also played with Roger Traves and Peter Taylor against Phil Lees and Westy Wyburn. Roger and Peter won the match.

Last Sunday the third round of Pennants was played. The No 4’s went down to Dubbo Railway 10 points to Nil while the No 7’s had a bye.

Friday March 22 – Twilight barefoot mixed mufti bowls with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends.
Saturday March 23 – Major Singles – D Watt v R Traves and Marker P Taylor. Minor Pairs – N Delaney and P Markcrow v R Symons and G Fairley. Major Pairs – B and C Webb v S Kirkman and I Nelder.
Sunday March 24 – The fourth round of Pennants will be played. The No 4’s play Manildra at home while the No 7’s play Manildra at Manildra. Bowlers please check the notice board for the selected teams.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
The District Singles for 2019 was won by Nada Kurta (Cowra) who defeated Lisa Burton (Forbes) in the final played on Wednesday, 13th March in Cowra. Gwen Haydon was beaten by Lisa Burton in a Quarter Final and Jo Davies was beaten by Lisa Burton in a Semi-Final.

Our Canowindra team of Jill Messenger, Liz Thornberry and Nancy Morrow enjoyed the day they had at Orange Newstead Presidents Day held on 14th March.

Pennants results for Tuesday, 19th March. Canowindra No.2’s defeated Cowra No. 1’s with an aggregate of 41-35, each team winning 1 rink, Canowindra scoring 4 points and Cowra 1 point. Forbes No. 4’s defeated Canowindra No. 4’s with an aggregate of 45-26, winning both rinks and scoring the maximum 5 points.

The raffle winner was Jane Keirniki (Cowra) and the 100 club winners were Leila Burns (Cowra) and Shirley Muir (Cowra).

A very special thank you to the Umpire Ron Bryant and Mark Wright for preparing the green.

The Point Score winners for January/February were Diane Slattery, Dianne Mooney, Nancy Morrow and Gwen Haydon.

The Canowindra No. 2’s play Cowra No.1’s in Cowra on Thursday, 21st and Canowindra No. 4’s have a bye.
