The Canowindra Bowls Club hosted the district Senior Pairs last weekend with the winners being the Cowra team of Neville Connor and Allan Messiter. Winners of the Open Pairs were the Grenfell team of Brad Bradke and Andrew Armstrong played at Grenfell. Winners of the Presidents Re- serve Pairs were the Grenfell team of Rob Coleman and Rob Chambers played at Gooloogong.
This weekend the club will host the District Senior Singles. Good luck to Ian Nelder who will play in this event, to Matt Cramp, Matt McMullen and Steve Kirkman who will travel to Cowra to compete in the district Presidents Reserve Singles and to Brent Lees who will travel to Grenfell to compete in the District Open Singles.

The Canowindra Women’s Bowls had two Canowindra teams compete in the Versatility Carnival played at Forbes on Saturday 6th May. Joice McNaught, Nancy Morrow, Deanna Noble, Sandy McDonald , Joyce Middleton, Jenny Middleton, Daph Bryant and Gwen Haydon all had an enjoyable day. Deanna Noble won the Singles and received a Trophy Prize.
Women’s Bowls have teams competing in the District Pairs at Parkes Railway Diggers, which commenced on Monday 8th May.

Marion Wilson, Joyce Middleton and Betty Jenkins defeated Bobbie Turner, Jeanette Wheeldon & Diane Slattery 17-13.
Linda Miller, Nancy Morrow and Sandy McDonald defeated Shirley Robson, Leanne Stevenson and Daph Bryant 18- 14.
Jenny Daley, Jenny Middleton and Mar- garet Gosper defeated Penny Nash, Ellen Petty and Diane Mooney 14-13.

The raffle of a potted chrysanthemum, kindly donated by Leanne Stevenson was won by Linda Miller, $53 was raised for our club.
We have four members celebrating birth- days this month Jean Roth on the 1st, Jill Messenger on the 14th, Jo Davies on 23rd & Jenny Middleton on 28th. Jill will be celebrating her birthday the big 70 on Mother’s Day and Jill is a very proud mum.
