Past Phoenix Publisher Throws Her Hat In The Ring
Cheryl Newsom, past publisher of The Canowindra Phoenix has decided to stand for council in the upcoming Local Government elections. With many years’ experience in running her own business, Cheryl said, “ I believe that there is a lot of potential in Cabonne which remains untapped and I will endeavour to unlock this during my term if I am elected to Cabonne Council.”
“During my time in Canowindra I have been involved with many activities within the community. I have been involved with the local
Chamber of Commerce, the Canowindra Balloon Challenge and am a current member of the Cabonne Council Tourism Authority Committee,” said Cheryl.
With the knowledge learned in business, Cheryl said that she can bring this knowledge to Council and will be financially responsible,
whilst seeking value for ratepayer’s dollars. Cheryl said, “I will be happy to represent all the ratepayers of Cabonne, and help to promote business and tourism in the Shire. If elected I will act with honesty and integrity. I am committed to work with other councillors as a team to ensure that Cabonne continues to grow and progress in a sustainable way.”
