Meet Zach Benham, a local Canowindra boy who has been diagnosed with Autism level 2, sensory processing disorder and high anxiety. The Benham family are currently fundraising for Zach to attain a fully trained service dog.
Zach has been donated a beautiful 12 week old puppy called Eva from Labradoodle Galore. Eva is to be trained over the next two years to accommodate Zach’s special needs. By the end of her training, Eva will be an Autistic Service Dog with a vest.
The family are fundraising with a gofundme page https://www.gofundme.com/f/zachs-autistic-service-dog and are also collecting recyclable cans and bottles which the Canowindra Pre-School and ODEEP Orange are supporting. There will also be an online auction (see Facebook group Zachs Service Dog Auction) which will be starting on Saturday 7th December at 6pm and ending on Saturday, 14th December at 6pm.
