NSW Local Land Services are currently seeking expressions of interest for a PROGRAZE™ course starting October in the Canowindra/Cudal area.
PROGRAZE™ is a recognised, industryleading training course based on scientifically proven principles of pasture and livestock production. A key focus is the development of skills in pasture and animal assessment that will improve the productivity and sustainability of grazing systems.
The course is run by experts with a focus on practical applications. PROGRAZE™ workshops offer hands on learning and skill development with practical on-farm, in paddock learning.
The course is aimed at landholders that manage livestock (sheep and/or cattle). It takes place over eight sessions, approximately five hours each, on-farm over 8 – 10 months. Participants visit different farms, allowing for the opportunity to learn from and with your peers.
PROGRAZE™ will help farmers to:
• visually assess pasture
• understand how pasture quality & quantity impact animal production
• match pastures to livestock requirements
• fat score livestock
• use grazing management to improve productivity & sustainability of pastures
• use grazing management to help control worms.
The total cost is $300 per business, with up to 3 participants per business.
