Cafe Chat…Spring Changes

Dot’s back and she’s ready for business! The Green Shed is looking brighter than ever with a new lick of paint and retro chic adorning the walls. At the moment they are open over the weekend from Friday to Monday 10am-4pm but as the days get longer another day of Dot’s delights is on the cards. All the food at the shed is freshly homemade with treats such as gourmet slow roasted beef pies, delicious cakes like caramel chocolate peanut slice, daily warming soups and of course, bacon and egg rolls. Dots espresso coffee is now being created using a new bean called combi, “it’s all about the bean darling!” she laughs. There’s a wood fire for those still chilly evenings and an air conditioner so efficient you’ll need your coat on in the summer. Dot’s got heaps of space that she wants to share, “We can hold wedding functions, birthday parties, meetings… pretty much anything really! I’d love to get some group bookings.” The Green Shed is available every day of the week for any function you desire and Dot can cater to individual tastes. If you’d like more information give her a call on 040229637 or go and check it out for yourself at 18 Tilga Street!
There’s something fishy going on at Simply Nile… their new fish special that is! The café now has fresh fish delivered from Sydney weekly and are running a special dish featuring our delicious underwater friends on Thursday, Friday and Saturday while they’re still hot off the ocean waves. The specials will change from week to week and Chef Mick will conjure up a combo that suits the particular product. This week it’s pan fried john dory fillet with pancetta and pea colcannon and celery and walnut salad. Yum! So don’t be a guppy and come and sea for yourself, we’re shore you won’t be disappointed. Too many ocean puns? Don’t be such a beach.
Café Latte has a touch of the European at the café with their newest employee, French chef, David Mansart. Specialising in desserts and pastries, David is currently learning the menu but both him and Manager Aaron Wright are hoping to add a French touch to the food in the near future. With new daily specials and delicious cakes on offer, go and relax at Café Latte this lunchbreak at 173 Summer Street, Orange.
