Chicken schnitzel and vegetables is just one of the delicious meal choices provided by the Cabonne Home Supports Melas On Wheels service.
Cabonne Home Support (CHS) is a Commonwealth funded aged care service provider based in Canowindra, covering the entire Cabonne shire area.
Frozen Meals On Wheels is a core aspect of the service with delicious fresh salads and frozen soups, snacks, desserts and meals. Preparing the meals requires nothing more than a microwave, and meals come in small and regular sizes, with a range of gluten free, low salt and vegetarian options available.
CHS have volunteer delivery drivers who deliver to Cudal, Cumnock, Manildra, Molong and Yeoval on Tuesdays, to Canowindra on Thursdays and Eugowra every second Monday. Meals can also be picked up directly from the CHS office at 70 Gaskill Street, Canowindra.
Hot Meals On Wheels are also available in Canowindra and Eugowra for lunches on weekdays.
If you are over the age of 65, or 50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people, you may be eligible for subsidised prices with approval from My Aged Care.
The service relies on the invaluable assistance provided by hardworking volunteers across Cabonne. The service is always looking for new volunteers to assist in the delivery of services.
