Cabonne Council Introduces Opt-in Sms Alerts For Local Residents

Cabonne Council is pleased to announce the launch of CabonneSMS, a new opt-in SMS service designed to keep residents informed with timely and essential updates.

Through this initiative, important alerts such as road closures and water outages, will be delivered directly to residents’ mobile phones across the Local Government Area (LGA). While updates will still be available on Council’s website and social media, CabonneSMS provides a more direct and convenient way for residents to stay informed, particularly during urgent or unexpected events.

Mayor Kevin Beatty said, “We know our residents are spread right across the region, so CabonneSMS will allow us to take a more targeted approach to communication.”

“Rather than relying solely on social media, our website, or VMS boards, SMS is the most direct and effective way to deliver vital information to our community quickly and reliably.”

Residents are encouraged to opt in to CabonneSMS to ensure they receive updates relevant to their location. This service is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving communication and community engagement.

Please note: CabonneSMS is a complementary service and does not replace emergency communications issued by agencies such as the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) or Fire and Rescue NSW. Residents should continue to follow official emergency channels during critical incidents.
