Cabonne Council Bulky Waste Clean Up Is On Again

14 August, 2024 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Get a jump start on your spring cleaning and take advantage of Cabonne Council’s kerbside bulky waste clean-up.

Cabonne Council is currently providing a kerbside bulky waste clean-up for all residents currently receiving a domestic waste and recycling collection service. Collections may occur at any time during the allotted period and may not coincide with your normal bin service day. Residents are encouraged to adhere to the following guidelines when preparing their waste for collection:

Separate into Three Piles:

• Scrap metal and white goods.

• Bundled organics.

• General bulky waste.

Secure Items:

• Organics and loose items must be tied securely with rope or string, into bundles or contained in sturdy boxes. Ensure items are secured to avoid windblown littering.

Volume Limit:

• Total waste must not exceed 2 cubic metres.

• Items must be reasonably removable by two people.

Acceptable Items Include:

• Metal: Fridges (doors removed), washing machines, stoves, microwaves, metal lawn mowers, wheelbarrows, empty paint tins, barbeques, pushbikes, hot water systems, metal furniture.

• Organics: Garden pruning’s, leaves, lawn clippings, untreated timber, tree limbs (no longer than 1.8 metres & 250mm in diameter).

• General Bulky: Mattresses, floor coverings, furniture, lounges, vacuum cleaners, small appliances, batteries, bric-a-brac.

Unacceptable Items:

• Trade, industrial and shop waste, items in plastic bags, motor vehicles, engines, car parts, tyres, building materials, hazardous waste, liquids and large tree trunks.
