With warmer weather approaching it’s a perfect time to get outside. Canowindra is surrounded by some of the best bushwalking tracks in the area and can be the perfect way to get active. Nangar National Park is right in our backyard and has some of the most spectacular views of the region.
The walking tracks range in difficulties and can be suitable for all ages. The trek to the top of Nangar is quite challenging, as it is approximately a three-hour return journey, being a 6km walk. Views from the top are breath-taking this time of year with endless paddocks of green and gold, so be sure to bring your binoculars to point out nearby towns.
If you’re not up to tackling this walk yet there are smaller ones you can do that allow you to take in the tranquility of the area. Enjoy the wildlife around you as kangaroos and birds take refuge here. Wildflowers are blooming this time of year and the creek is flowing so be sure to bring your camera.
Take a stop at Dripping Rock, as it is the perfect place to have a picnic and a rest. Sit and listen to the creek flow as you unwind for the day. Dripping Rock and the walking tracks can be accessed by a 2WD vehicle but to drive to the top you will need a 4WD. Currently the access to drive to the top is closed after the recent rain but is sure to open back up soon.
Walks with a view, why not conquer Nangar this weekend.
