MENS BOWLS
Last Saturday Ken Fisher played Steve Kirkman in the minor singles with the score at one stage being 30-14 in favour of Steve. The situation something short of a miracle, Ken came back to win the game 31-30. Last Sunday our Club hosted the semi finals and final of the district senior singles. In the semi finals Duncan had a comfortable win over Dennis Sargent while Alan Messiter defeated Barry Jones. The final between Duncan and Alan was close for the majority of the game with the score being 20 all then Alan edged away to lead
30-23 but Duncan won the next three ends to make the score 30-27. Duncan was not able to bridge the gap with Alan winning 31-27.
Good luck to Alan when he plays in the zone playoffs at Grenfell in August and
Bob and Terry who travel to Caragabal this weekend to play in the district senior pairs while Roger, Peter, Nick and Brent travel to Grenfell to play in the district open pairs. Barefoot bowls will continue this Friday 12 February with names in by 6.00 for 6.30 start. Wednesday badge draw $250. Friday badge draw $1000 with optional second draw $100.
LADIES BOWLS
Ladies bowls was held on Tuesday 9th at Canowindra Bowling Club. In the matches played Heather and Marion came out as winners, defeating Sandra and Bobbie.
Dianne was a winner against Daphne and Libby defeated Ellen. Betty H and Deanna were defeated in their match played against Radka and Nancy.
In the social games played this week Jenny and Colleen were winners, defeating Joyce M and Gwen and Linda and Joyce were also successful in defeating Betty and Jill. Our thoughts are with Margaret on the loss of her mother.
