MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday Pat Kennedy won the minor singles final against Kenny Fisher. Kenny led for the first half of the game and after 17 ends led 18-17. In the second half of the game, Pat took control to win 31-21. Congratulations Pat. Commiserations Kenny. In an entertaining major singles game that lasted 39 ends, Brent Lees played against Bruce Webb. Brent led after 24 ends 20-17 then the game was locked up three ends later at 21 all. Bruce led eight ends later by 28-24 then Brent scored 7 on the last four ends to win the game 31-28.

On Sunday the fifth round of pennants was played. The No 4’s went down to Caragabal 9-1 while the No 7’s went down to Parkes Railway 8-2. Saturday April 23rd Major triples: P Kennedy, A Robson, M Lawrence vs J Preston, C Webb, B Webb. Minor Triples- R Brooks, P Sargent, R Bates vs J Breen, S and K Fisher.

Sunday April 24th Minor pairs final: J Preston, N Delaney vs S and K Fisher. There will be also mixed mufti bowls with names in by 2pm for 2.30pm start.
WOMEN’S BOWLS
Two teams represented Canowindra at Blayney’s President’s Day on Thursday 14th April in an enjoyable day of bowls but no trophies. Team members were; Joice McNaught, Bobbie Turner and Sandy McDonald and Shirley Robson, Jill Messenger and Jenny Middleton.

There were two games of triples played on Tuesday 19th April. Bobbie Turner, Joice McNaught and Christine Pickard defeated Radka Tatterson, Daph Bryant and Moyna Rue 15-8. Shirley Robson, Jenny Middleton and Colleen Crump had a draw 18-18 from Diane Slattery, Diane Slattery nd Libby Balcombe.

Diane played lead & second. The Senior Pairs team of Ellen Petty and Deanna Noble were runners-up and were defeated by Ruby Fogg and Ivy Fogg 17-9. Well done girls and congratulations to the Foggs, this final was played on Tuesday morning 19th April. Our last team in the Open District Pairs, Margaret Gosper and Heather Hoad were defeated on the Tuesday morning by Maureen Baillie’s team from Parkes.
