MEN’S BOWLS

Last Saturday a semi-final of the Minor Singles was played with Terry Mooney against Paul Markcrow. Up to 27 ends Terry led the game with the score being 19-18. From then on Paul took control of the game to win the match 31-26. An O’Brien Cup match was also played with Nigel Knight and Mark Wright against Tot Fisher and Peter Taylor with Tot and Peter having a comfortable win 38-17.

Saturday June 8 – Mixed mufti social bowls with names in by 1.00pm for 1.30pm start.
Sunday June 9 – O’Brien Cup – G Fairley and R Symons v D Beath and K Walker. Consistency Singles – S Kirkman v P Taylor and Marker V Mirto. R Traves v W Fisher and Marker D Watt. N Delaney v T Tuimauga and Marker L Nunn.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Canowindra hosted the District Triples which commenced on Monday, 3rd June and the matches were played in quite wet conditions. The final was played on Tuesday afternoon between the Cowra team of Dye, M. Nicholls and S. Bohanna and the Canowindra team of Betty Jenkins, Jenny Middleton and Dianne Mooney. Many thanks to the Umpire Sheryn O’Malveney.

There was one social game played. Diane Slattery, Marion Wilson and Christine Pickard had an 18 all draw against Liz Thornberry, Daph Bryant and Sandy McDonald. Christine Pickard and Sandy McDonald played in the Wagga Invitation Pairs last weekend and came 9th out of 26 teams. They both enjoyed their time in Wagga.

The April Points Score was won by Nancy Morrow and Colleen Crump with 23 points. The Lucky Draw was won by Betty Jenkins with No. 36.

Matches drawn to be played on Tuesday, 11th June. Club Fours Championship: Nancy Morrow, Deanna Noble, Colleen Crump and Jo Davies v Joyce Middleton, Liz Thornberry, Joice McNaught and Penny Nash. Dianne Mooney, Jill Messenger, Betty Jenkins and Jenny Middleton v Julie Wythes, Radka Tatterson, Sheryn O’Malveney and Gwen Haydon.

We have two of our members with birthdays this month Lorne Burgess on 6th and Dianne Mooney on 27th. A very happy birthday to you both.
