MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday a Minor Singles match was played with Terry Mooney against Larry Nunn. After 21 ends the scores were close with Terry leading 18-17. After that Terry took control of the game winning 31-20.

Last Sunday the first round of Pennants was played. The No 4’s went down to Manildra 10 points to Nil while the No 7’s went down to Manildra 8.5 points to 1.5.

Friday March 8 – Twilight Barefoot Mixed Mufti Bowls with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends being turn around triples.
Saturday March 9 – Major Singles – D Watt v G Fairley and Marker T Tuimauga. P Lees v N Delaney and Marker P Markcrow. Major Pairs – B and C Webb v S Kirkman and I Nelder.
Sunday March 10 – Second round of Pennants, the No 4’s play Grenfell at home starting at 1pm. Teams are D Beath, R Traves, A Wyburn and P Taylor. A Robson, T Tuimauga, S Kirkman and N Delaney. M Lawrence, B Webb, I Nelder and B McClintock. The No 7’s play Gooloogong at Gooloogong starting at 1pm. Teams are P Lees, B Lees, J Totman and M Traves. W Fisher, S Fisher, D Watt and N Knight. M McMullen, T Mooney, L Nunn and R Symons.

Nominations for the Major and Minor Fours will close this Sunday March 10.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
There were four Major Singles matches played on Tuesday, 5th March. 1st round, Libby Balcombe defeated Sandy McDonald 25-17 and Diane Slattery defeated Dianne Mooney 25-13. 2nd round, Deanna Noble defeated Christine Pickard 25-17 and Gwen Haydon defeated Jenny Middleton 25-20. Thanks to the markers Jo Davies, Leanne Stevenson, Colleen Crump and Moyna Rue.

There was one social game played. Nancy Morrow, Pauline Carroll and Joyce Middleton defeated Jenny Daly, Bobbie Turner and Jeanette Wheeldon 19-17. The Lucky Draw was won by Christine Pickard with No. 14.

We will be holding birthday lunches on the 4th Tuesday in each month until November. We held our first one on Tuesday, 26th February at the Canowindra Hotel. Unfortunately we cannot hold one in March as the 3rd round of the District Pennants is being played. Three of our members will be celebrating birthdays this month Jeanette Wheeldon on 15th, Daph Bryant on 22nd and Joyce Middleton on 23rd. A very happy birthday to you all.

Our best wishes go with the members who are competing in the District Singles being held at Cowra commencing on Monday, 11th March.
