MEN’S BOWLS
Last week was the start of the first round matches of the Mixed Pairs. Steve Kirkman and Di Slattery had a narrow win against Nick Delaney and Radka Tatterson. Tony Tuimauga and Lorne Burgess led throughout their game to win against Ian Nelder and Nancy Morrow. Peter McVicker and Jenny Middleton had a comfortable win against Vinnie Mirto and Suzanna. Matt McMullen and Liz Thornberry also had a comfortable win against Roger Traves and Betty Jenkins.

Friday December 14: Twilight Barefoot Mixed Mufti Bowls with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends being Turn Around Triples.
Saturday December 15: O’Brien Cup Semi-Final – A Wyburn and W Fisher v D Beath and K Walker. Major Fours Final – C Webb, B McClintock, S Kirkman and B Webb v P Markcrow, T Mooney, T Tuimauga and V Mirto.
Sunday December 16: Minor Triples Final – G Fairley, L Nunn and T Tuimauga v B McClintock, W Fisher and A Wyburn. Consistency Singles Final – B Webb v M Lawrence and Marker D Beath.

Nominations are now called for the Zone Presidents, Senior and Open Singles as well as the Zone Presidents, Senior and Open Pairs. The club is hosting a section of the Presidents Pairs. Please nominate ASAP for your preferred venue as nominations from other clubs are filling up quickly.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Our Presentation Day was held on Tuesday, 11th December with the Winners and Runner-Ups of the Championships and Competitions for 2018 as follows:
• Major Singles: Colleen Crump, R/up Nancy Morrow.
• Minor Singles: Jenny Middleton, R/up Marion Wilson.
• Pairs: Betty Jenkins and Dianne Mooney R/ups Jill Messenger and Colleen Crump.
• Triples: Joyce Middleton, Liz Thornberry and Colleen Crump, R/ups Jenny Middleton, Moyna Rue and Dianne Mooney.
• Fours: Nancy Morrow, Deanna Noble, Colleen Crump and Jo Davies, R/ups Daph Bryant, Linda Miller, Christine Pickard and Gwen Haydon.
• Consistency Singles: Jenny Middleton, R/up Jo Davies.
• Rose Bowl Handicap Singles: Jenny Middleton, R/up Nancy Morrow.
• Handicap Pairs: Leanne Stevenson and Jo Davies, R/ups Liz Thornberry and Christine Pickard.
• Points Score: Nancy Morrow with 180 points, R/up Deanna Noble with 168 points.
• Club Person Of The Year: President Betty Jenkins, R/up Nancy Morrow.

We have two of our ladies celebrating birthdays this month Betty Hodge on 2nd and Christine Pickard on 14th. A very happy birthday to you both. Bowls will resume on Tuesday 15th January, 2019.
