WOMEN’S BOWLS
The bowling year is nearly to an end ladies with the Final next week of the Rose Bowl Handicap Singles. On Tuesday Jenny Middleton defeated Sandy McDonald and Nancy Morrow defeated Dianne Mooney in a tough tussle. It was touch and go for a while with Nancy winning 25-23. Congratulations to our two finalists. Thanks to the two markers R Tatterson and J Messenger.

There were three games of social bowls played – P Carroll, D Bryant and D Noble defeated L Stevenson, Joyce Middleton D Slattery 19-10. M Wilson, J McNaught and C Pickard defeated J Daly, L Burgess and G Haydon 17-18. M Rue, J Roth, L Thornberry and L Balcombe defeated S O’Malveney, L Miller, J Wheeldon and B Jenkins 20-11.

The Presentation Day will be held on 11 December commencing at 11am, no bowls on this day. The winners of the monthly point score were S McDonald and N Morrow with 15 points each. The lucky draw was won by L Burgess with No 21.

MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday an O’Brien Cup match was played with Phil Lees and Nick Delaney against Ron Symons and Garry Fairley. Ron and Garry took control early in the game leading throughout and winning the match 29-27. Phil and Nick scored five shots on the last three ends but were unable to bridge the gap. Another O’Brien Cup match was played with Barney Robson and Crock Watt against Teddy Lawrence and Grant Cummings with Barney and Crock winning the match.

Last Sunday a Consistency Singles Semi Final was played with Teddy Lawrence against Tony Tuimauga. The scores were close for most of the game with Tony leading 119-116 after 18 ends. Over the last five ends Teddy was able to take the lead winning the game 150-135.

Upcoming Events:
Friday November 30 – Twilight barefoot mixed mufti bowls with names in by 5.30pm for 6pm start. One game of 15 ends being turn around triples.
Saturday December 1 – Consistency Singles – P Markcrow v B Webb and Marker V Mirto. O’Brien Cup – A Wyburn and W Fisher v I Nelder and S Kirkman. D Beath and K Walker v C Webb and L Nunn.
Sunday December 2 – Major Fours Final-C Webb, B McClintock, S Kirkman and B Webb v T Tuimauga, T Mooney, P Markcrow and V Mirto. O’Brien Cup – A Robson and D Watt v R Symons and G Fairley.

This Sunday Canowindra Bowling Club will present live music from 3pm to 6pm. Neil Gill a well-known Central West media and music personality will perform. Sunday badge draw will be $1,750 drawn between 5pm and 6pm. Must be in the club to win. Raffles to be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from 4pm. This will be followed by the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $800. Friday badge draw will be $1,200. Bingo this Thursday 11am.
