MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday a Consistency Singles match was played between Paul Markcrow and Crock Watt. The scores were close throughout the game until the second last end when Paul scored a ten and the scores were 145- 135 in favour of Paul. Paul was able to win the last end and the match 152-138.

Thanks to all the members who attended the working bee last Saturday to top dress the Ron Worboys Green. With the good number of members turning up, other jobs around the greens were undertaken. Also thanks to the members who provided machinery and equipment making some tasks so much easier.

The Footy Tipping Party was held last Saturday evening. Thanks to Tony Tuimauga and his helpers for cooking the lamb on the spit and preparing the meal and platters.

Last Sunday Canowindra Bowling Club presented live music with Andy Nelson from Bathurst performing. A large crowd was in attendance and thanks to Eleena Markcrow for organising the event and Paul the Painter getting the jumping castle from Parkes.

Saturday October 13 – Consistency Singles
– B Webb v G Fairley and Marker A Wyburn. M Lawrence v N Delaney and Marker D Beath.

Sunday October 14 – Major Triples Final- T Tuimauga, A Wyburn and M Lawrence v B Lees, Z Lees and P Lees. O’Brien Cup – A Robson and D Watt v V Mirto and D Sargent. R Traves and B McClintock v C Webb and L Nunn. Sunday badge draw will be $1,400 drawn between 5pm and 6pm. Must be in the club to win. Raffles to be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from 4pm. Friday badge draw will be $500. Bingo this Thursday 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of three matches in the Rose Bowl Handicap Singles played on Tuesday, 9th October. Dianne Mooney defeated Deanna Noble 25-23. Leanne Stevenson defeated Gwen Haydon 25-21. Daph Bryant defeated Diane Slattery 25-19.

Thanks to the markers Shirley Robson, Joice McNaught and Jenny Middleton. There was one social game played. Jean Roth, Christine Pickard and Radka Tatterson defeated Linda Miller, Penny Nash, Sandy McDonald and Moyna Rue 25-11. The Lucky Draw was won by Tracey Bayed with No. 20.

Liz Thornberry, Betty Jenkins, Libby Balcombe and Jo Davies competed in the Jess Knight Shield played at Mudgee on 9th October. Jill Messenger played in a Cowra team.

Two Canowindra teams played in the Denman Triples Tournament on Friday, 5th October. Sandy McDonald, Daph Bryant and Gwen Haydon won three games and had a draw. They also won the best performed team. They came away with lot of prizes and some raffle wins. The other team was Leanne Stevenson, Deanna Noble and Christine Pickard.
