WOMEN’S BOWLS
Result of 1st round of the No. 3 Pennant was played at home on Tuesday 6th March. Canowindra defeated Parkes with an aggregate of 43-40, Canowindra winning one rink and having a draw on one rink. Canowindra scored 4 1/2 points and Parkes 1/2 point.

Result of 2nd round of the No. 4 Pennant played at home on the same day. Canowindra defeated Cowra with an aggregate of 37-34 winning both rinks and scoring the maximum 5 points.

Well done Canowindra teams. A special thanks to the Umpire Ron Bryant and to the ladies who prepared the morning tea. The raffle was won by Diane Slattery.

The Lucky Draws were won by Jeanette Wheeldon with No. 10 and Brenda Davis with No. 53.

There was one game of social singles played. Jeanette Wheeldon defeated Jenny Daly.

We have three of our members celebrating birthdays this month. Daph Bryant on 22nd, Joyce Middleton on 23rd and Jeanette Wheeldon on 25th. A very happy birthday to you all.

MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday two minor singles matches were played. Matt McMullen played Ron Lynch but Ron had to retire due to the heat. In the other match Glen Burrows played Brian McClintock. After 11 ends the score was 6 all but after that Glen took control of the game winning 33-13.

Last Sunday the first round of pennants were played the No 5’s played Narromine winning 9 points to 1 while the No 7’s went down to Grenfell 9 points to 1.

Friday March 9: Be sure to be at the club by 6.00pm if you wish to participate in the novelty event worth a jackpot of $420. This will be followed by twilight barefoot bowls with names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start.

One game of 15 ends with entry fee being $21 per team. The scale of prize money depends on the number of teams nominated.

Saturday March 10: Minor singles – G Fairley v N Delaney and Marker B Mc- Clintock. T Fisher v L Nunn and Marker D Beath. M Cramp v D Watt and Marker M McMullen.

Sunday March 11: Second round of pennants. No 5’s play Parkes Town at Parkes. Teams are R Traves, D Beath, P Taylor and A Wyburn. B Lees, A Robson, M Cramp and S Kirkman. M Lawrence, B Webb, P Markcrow and G Burrows. No 7’s play Cowra at Cowra. Teams are K Walker, N Delaney, G Fairley and T Mooney. T Tuimauga, I Nelder, M McMullen and C Webb. P Lees, T Fisher, D Watt and P Makin.

If you nominate for club championships it is your responsibility to advise the bowls secretary when you are unavailable.
