Results of three matches played on Tuesday 13th February.
MAJOR SINGLES – 2nd round
Sandy McDonald defeated Christine Pickard 25-24. Jill Messenger defeated Radka Tatterson 25-13.
MINOR SINGLES – 2nd round
Marion Wilson defeated Liz Thornberry 25- 24. Thanks to the markers Colleen Crump, Gwen Haydon and Penny Nash.
There were two social games played one triples and one fours. Ellen Petty, Daph Bryant and Deanna Noble had a 17 all draw against Jenny Daly, Moyna Rue and Libby Balcombe. Diane Slattery, Linda Miller, Nancy Morrow and Betty Jenkins defeated Diane Slattery,
Leanne Stevenson Joyce Middleton and Dianne Mooney 20-12.
The Lucky Draw was won by Moyna Rue with No. 5. Our monthly meeting will be held next week after bowls.
MEN’S BOWLS
Last Friday night six teams competed in twilight barefoot bowls. The winners were the team of Pat Kennedy, Matt Cramp and Liz Thornberry while the runners up were the team of Joyce Middleton, Paul Markcrow and Crock Watt.
Last Saturday a mixed pairs semi-final was played with Joyce Middleton and David Beath against Betty Jenkins and Roger Traves. Joyce and David were always in the lead winning the match 31-17. The final of the mixed pairs was played last Sunday with Joyce Middleton and David Beath against Gwen Haydon and Mark Wright.
Again Joyce and David led throughout this match winning the final 28-17.
Friday February 16 – Be sure to be at the club by 6.00pm if you wish to participate in the novelty event worth a jackpot of $330. Twilight barefoot bowls will follow with names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends with the entry fee being $21 per team. The scale of prize money will depend on the number of teams nominated.
Saturday February 17 – Pennant trial against Cowra at Canowindra. No 5’s teams are M Lawrence, B Webb, P Lees and B McClintock. R Traves, D Beath, A Wyburn and G Fairley. B Lees, V Mirto, A Robson and S Kirkman. No 7’s teams are I Nelder, T Tuimauga, N Knight and B Robson. M McMullen, M Cramp, D Watt and L Nunn. K Walker, N Delaney, P Markcrow and T Mooney. If you are unavailable please inform the selectors.
Wednesday badge draw will be $100 and Friday badge draw will be $500. Don’t forget Bingo this Thursday at 11am.
