MEN’S BOWLS
Last Friday night twenty players competed in twilight barefoot bowls with winners being Joice McNaught and Doug Nash and the
runners up were David Watt and Di Slattery. Last Saturday four mixed pairs matches were played. Cyril Webb and Karen Cox played Ian Nelder and Lorne Burgess. For the first part of the game Cyril and Karen had a big lead but then Ian and Lorne were able to bridge the gap to make the scores close for the rest of the game. Ian and Lorne won the game 37-33. Bruce Webb and Eryn Traves had a comfortable win over Max Baldwin and Jo Davies with the final score being 31-13. Sandy McDonald and Ron Lynch played Betty Jenkins and Roger Traves with Betty and Roger winning the game 29-25. Gwen Haydon and Mark Wright played Di and Terry Mooney with Gwen and Mark having a comfortable win 30-17.

Friday November 17 – Barefoot twilight bowls being mixed mufti turn around triples. Names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends with entry fee being $21 per team. First 14 teams accepted. The scale of prize money will be dependent on the number of teams competing.

Saturday November 18 – Consistency singles- M Lawrence v B Webb and Marker is V Mirto. D Beath v C Webb and Marker is A Wyburn.

Sunday November 19 – Mixed pairs – P and M Lees v D Beath and J Middleton. B Lees and M Rue v P Kennedy and T Fitzgerald.
O’Brien Cup – T Mooney and G Fairley v K Walker and D Rollinson.

Coming event – Saturday November 25 – Mixed mufti triples day with prize money of $500 proudly sponsored by The Canowindra Phoenix. Teams may be men, women or mixed men and women. Two games of 15 ends.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of three social games played, two triples and one fours on Tuesday 14th November. Linda Miller, Diane Slattery and Jenny
Middleton defeated Joice McNaught, Bobbie Turner and Betty Jenkins 15-14. Jenny Daly, Janice Crump and Ellen Petty defeated Pauline Carroll, Moyna Rue and Deanna Noble 21-9. Joyce Middleton, Jeanette Wheeldon and Dianne Mooney had a 14 all draw against Liz Thornberry, Nancy Morrow, Leanne Stevenson and Marion Wilson. The Lucky Draw was won by Liz Thornberry with No. 23.

Two Canowindra Triples teams, namely Sandy McDonald, Christine Pickard and Gwen Haydon and Jill Messenger, Daph Bryant and Libby Balcombe competed in the Young Cherry Festival Triples held on Tuesday 14th November. Report next week.
