MEN’S BOWLS

Last Saturday two matches of mixed pairs were played. Nick Delaney and Maddie Lees played Garry and Julie Fairley with Nick and Maddie winning the game by one shot 43-42. In the other game Margo and Phil Lees played Penny Nash and Phil Makin with Margo and Phil having a comfortable win 39-31.

Last Sunday Pat Kennedy played David Beath in a consistency singles match. Pat had a lead for more than half of the game but David was able to bridge the margin winning the game 151-146. A mixed pairs match was also played with Gwen Haydon and Mark Wright against Nancy Morrow and Matt Cramp. Gwen and Mark won this game 22-15.

Friday November 3 – Twilight barefoot bowls being mixed mufti turn around triples. Prize money proudly sponsored by Mens Bowls. Winners will receive $180 and runners up will receive $60. Names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends with entry fee being $21 per team. First 14 teams accepted.

Saturday November 4 – Mixed mufti bowls with names in by 1.30pm for 2.00pm start.
Sunday November 5 – Mixed pairs – K Walker and R Tatterson v N Delaney and M Lees. C Webb and K Cox v I Nelder and L Burgess. P Taylor and J Middleton v D Watt and A Zaino. B Lees and M Rue v P Kennedy and T Fitzgerald.

Coming event – Saturday November 25 – Mixed mufti day proudly sponsored by Canowindra Phoenix with prize money of $500. Teams can be men, women or mixed men and women. Two games of 15 ends. Wednesday badge draw will be $300 and Friday badge draw will be $800. Bingo this Thursday 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS

Results of four social games played on Tuesday 31st October, one triples and three fours. Rose Veal, Penny Nash, Jo Davies and
Christine Pickard defeated Jill Messenger, Jenny Middleton and Margaret Gosper 18-9.

Jean Roth, Daph Bryant, Leanne Stevenson and Jeanette Wheeldon defeated Nancy Morrow, Pauline Carroll, Joyce Middleton and Jenny Daly 19-12. Marion Wilson, Gwen Haydon, Radka Tatterson and Joice McNaught defeated Libby Balcombe, Linda Miller, Diane Slattery and Liz Thornberry 23-8.

Karen Cox, Ellen Petty and Sandy McDonald defeated Bobbie Turner, Betty Jenkins and Deanna Noble 28-17. The Lucky Draw was won by Tracey Fitzgerald with No 36.

Great to have Margaret Gosper and her friend Rose Veal from England playing this week. We had the largest number of bowlers on a Club day ever so well done ladies.

Melbourne Cup Day is on 7th November so there will be no bowls, buffet Chinese lunch and a Fashion Parade.

The points score for September was won by Penny Nash.
