MEN’S BOWLS
Last Sunday an O’Brien Cup match was played with Kevin Walker and Don Rollinson against Jono Preston and Cyril Webb. Kevin and Don kept their previous good form to take control of the game winning 36-20.
Friday October 6 – Twilight barefoot bowls being mixed mufti turn around triples. Men and Women in teams. Prize money proudly sponsored by Men’s Bowls. Winners will receive $180 and runners up will receive $60. Names in by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start.
One game of 15 ends with entry fee being $21 per team. First 14 teams accepted.
Saturday October 7 – Consistency singles – B Webb v R Traves and Marker I Nelder. D Beath v P Kennedy and Marker C Webb.
Sunday October 8 – O’Brien Cup – S Fisher and B Webb v A Wyburn and P Taylor. T Mooney and G Fairley v K Walker and D Rollinson. Nominations for mixed pairs championships will close Sunday October 8.
Coming event – Sunday October 22 – Bob Bates Presidents Day. 9.00am for 9.30am start. 3 games of 12 ends. Chinese lunch. $75 per team.
WOMEN’S BOWLS
Result of one match played on Tuesday 3 October. CONSISTENCY – SEMI FINAL – Jo Davies defeated Janice Crump 155-110. Thanks to the marker Gwen Haydon. The Final will be played between Libby Balcombe & Jo Davies on Tuesday 10 October.
There were three social games played two triples & one fours. Bobbie Turner, Penny Nash & Libby Balcombe defeated Jenny Daly, Radka Tatterson & Sandy McDonald 22-11. Linda Miller, Joice McNaught & Daph Bryant defeated Diane Slattery, Betty Jenkins & Jenny Middleton 20-14. Shirley Robson, Jeanette Wheeldon, Deanna Noble & Nancy Morrow defeated Liz Thornberry, Ellen Petty & Joyce Middleton 16-10.
The Lucky Draw was won by Diane Slattery with No. 27.
Bobbie Turner, Moyna Rue & Janice Crump competed in the Millthorpe Gala Day held on Wednesday 27 September. They had a very enjoyable day but no wins.
President Betty Jenkins wished to thank those ladies who worked on the roster for Driver Reviver last weekend. Three of our members are celebrating birthdays this month, Sandy McDonald on the 3rd, Joice McNaught on the 11th & Penny Nash on the 22nd. A very happy birthday to you all.
