WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of matches played on 29 August, 2017 – The final of the Rose Bowl Handicap Singles was won by Jo Davies. Jo defeated Dianne Mooney in a very close match which could have gone either way. The score was 24 all with Jo scoring 2 on the last end. Congratulations to both bowlers on a great game of bowls.
Other results in the Consistency Singles – Moyna Rue won from Dianne Slattery when Dianne was unable to finish the game. Joice
McNaught won on a forfeit from Marion Wilson and Libby Balcombe won on a forfeit from Jeanette Wheeldon. Gwen Haydon defeated Ellen Petty 152-133. Thanks to the markers Daph Bryant, Nancy Morrow and Jill Messenger.
There was also two games of social bowls with Linda Miller, Sandy McDonald and Janice Crump defeating Jenny Daley, Joice
McNaught and Betty Jenkins 33-9. The other game was between Bobbie Turner, lead and second and Deanna Noble 12 and Leanne Stevenson, Liz Thornberry and Christine Pickard 13. A singles game was also played between Nancy Morrow and Moyna Rue with Nancy winning 17-7. Congratulations to all our winners and a reminder that Veterans Day will be held next Tuesday.
MEN’S BOWLS
No championship games were drawn to be played last weekend due to a number of bowlers being unavailable. Saturday September 2: O’Brien Cup – N Delaney and P Lees v D Watt and A Robson. A Wyburn and P Taylor v D Beath and P Makin.
Sunday September 3: O’Brien Cup – R Traves and M Baldwin v K Walker and D Rollinson. L Nunn and M Lawrence v C Webb and J Preston.
Wednesday badge draw is $900 and Friday badge draw is $900.
