MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday two O’Brien Cup games were played. Nick Delaney and Teddy Lawrence played against Ron Brooks and Kevin Walker. Nick and Teddy gained control of the gain to enjoy a comfortable win of 33-26. In the other game, Steve Kirkman and Duncan played against Bob and Tracy Bates. The scores remained close for most of the game with Steve and Duncan winning 26-22.

Last Sunday a Major Singles game was played with Duncan against Teddy Lawrence. Duncan must have had an off day with Teddy leading throughout the game to have a comfortable win of 151-129. Saturday 16th July will be the Major Triples; P Taylor, R Traves and D Beath vs T Mooney, B Lees and V Mirto. Consistency Singles; J Preston vs B Webb, marker I Nelder. Sunday 17th July will be the Major Triples; P Kennedy, T Bates and M Lawrence vs J Preston, C Webb and B Webb.

Mixed mufti bowls will continue on Thursday 14th July with names in by 1.30pm for 2pm start. All welcome and you are encouraged to bring a friend. Please note that all championship games will commence at 1pm during the winter months. Membership subscriptions are now
overdue for 2016-2017 and bowlers must be full members to play any championship
games for the 2017 calendar year. The Wednesday badge draw was $1,050 and the Friday badge draw $300. Bingo is on this Thursday from 11am.

WOMEN’S BOWLS
Results of two matches played on Tuesday 12th July are as follows. Club Fours Championship, First Round; Joyce Middleton, Betty Jenkins, Colleen Crump and Gwen Haydon defeated Jill Messenger, Nancy Morrow, Libby Balcombe and Margaret Gosper 24-10.

Club Fours Championship, Second Round; Diane Slattery, Radka Tatterson, Ellen Petty and Deanna Noble defeated Joice McNaught, Moyna Rue, Shirley Robson and Dianne Mooney 24 16. There was one game of social pairs played. Linda Miller and Jo Davies defeated Pauline Carroll and Bobbie Turner 23-12. The Lucky Draw was won by Diane Slattery with No. 14. The club’s monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday 19th July after bowls.
