WOMEN’S BOWLS
No bowls played on Tuesday 5th July due to the weather and wet greens. Margaret Gosper competed in the Championship of Championship Singles Bowls played at Oak Flats last week. Margaret was beaten in the 3rd round by Karen Moran of Cabramatta. Margaret enjoyed her time in Oak flats and was accompanied by Heather Hoad.

On Monday 4th July the District Senior Fours 1st round was played; Libby Balcombe, Nancy Morrow, Margaret Gosper and Heather Hoad defeated Moyna Rue, Joice McNaught, Jill Messenger and Deanna Noble and in the final Ivy Fogg’s team from Cowra defeated Heather’s team.

Congratulations to Ivy Fogg’s team, the District Senior Fours Champions for 2016, which makes Heather’s team the runnerup’s for 2016. Only 3 teams entered the competition. Canowindra’s District fours teams were beaten on the Monday morning, except for Gwen Haydon’s team who won in the morning but were beaten by a Cowra team in the afternoon.

The teams were Moyna Rue, Jill Messenger and Gwen Haydon (who won their game) Bobbie Turner, Joice McNaught and Nancy Morrow (who were the runners-up on the day) and Daph Bryant, Deanna Noble and Libby Balcombe.
