CANOWINDRA MEN’S BOWLS
Our club had another successful anniversary tournament last weekend with 16 teams competing in the anniversary triples and 26 teams competing in the Ron Worboys Memorial Pairs. The winners of the triples were the team of Robert Lynch, Bruce Webb and Sparky while the runners up were Allan Messiter’s team from Cowra.

Round winners were Terry Mooney’s team, Ray Walter’s team from Grenfell and the Cumnock team. The winners of the pairs were Noel Elbourne’s team from Orange Country Club while the runners up were the Millthorpe team. Round winners were the teams of Dool and Brent Lees, Yeoval team and Orange City team.

Unfortunately for Dool and Brent after winning two games failed in their quest to win the third game against Moose Cassidy and Cheesie Makin. Thanks to President Bob Bates and his committee for organising and running a successful tournament and also thanks to Dool and his helpers for their time for preparing the greens. Special thanks to Ken and his staff for a beautiful Chinese buffet lunch on both days.

Last week a mixed pairs match was played with Peter Taylor and Jenny Middleton going down to Mark Wright and Gwen Haydon.
