MEN’S BOWLS
Last Saturday a major pair’s game was played with Sparky and Duncan against Kevin and Teddy. Kevin and Teddy were in the lead for the first half of the game leading at one stage 14-6. But the second half of the game was quite different with Sparky and Duncan scoring 18 on the last six ends to win the game 30-17. Last Sunday the third round of pennants were played. The No 4’s kept on their winning way defeating Forbes 9-1 while the No 7’s went down to Cowra 10-0.

Saturday April 9th Major Pairs: C and B Webb vs T Mooney and V Mirto. Major singles: J Preston vs S Kirkman, Marker I Nelder. Minor pairs: T Bates and D Byrne vs S and K Fisher.
Sunday April 10th is the fourth round of pennants where no 4’s play Parkes at Parkes.
Teams are R Traves, D Beath, J Preston, P Taylor. B Webb, B Lees, C Webb, G Wilson. M Lawrence, V Mirto, D Byrne, T Mooney. No 7’s play Gooloogong at home. Teams are M Mc Mullen, K Walker, R Brooks, R Robson. I Nelder, S Kirkman, B McClintock, B Rose. R Bates, N Delaney, C Balcombe, R Lynch.

Nominations are now called for consistency singles and the O’Brien Cup.

WOMEN’S BOWLS

The team of Joice McNaught, Daph Bryant, Betty Jenkins and Sandy McDonald represented the club at Orange Newstead President’s Day hosted by the Manildra club and were the winners of the day. Well done ladies! Results of two matches played on Tuesday 5th April.

Major Singles 3rd Round: Nancy Morrow defeated Deanna Noble
Major Singles 1st Round: Margaret Gosper defeated Sandy McDonald 25-24. What a
great match! Thanks to the markers Shirley Robson and Dianne Mooney. There were
two games of social bowls played, triples and pairs: Betty Jenkins, Linda Miller and Daph Bryant defeated Diane Slattery and Joice McNaught 17-16. Joyce Middleton and Moyna Rue defeated Pauline Carroll 24-12.
