Book The Car In Now!

21 March, 2018 By editor

With the school holidays fast approaching and Easter next weekend you might be planning a trip somewhere. Before you set off on holidays ensure you have a safe journey by getting your vehicle checked over.

Easter is traditionally the busiest time on our roads with everyone trying to get the most out of the 4-day long weekend. Central Motors in Canowindra will service your car for you! Have the oil checked, brakes tested and filters cleaned to make sure the car runs smoothly for your holiday.

Planning on towing a caravan, boat or trailer, then ensure you meet the required towing regulations. Failure to abide by the towing regulations, including maximum loads, may result in a fine, or in the case of an accident, refusal of the insurance claim, and the possibility of further legal action.

At Tuned Suspension in Parkes, an agent for Pedders Suspension, you can get a tow and load assessment for $75. This world first and comprehensive service is designed for those who tow or carry loads to better understand the effects of weight on their vehicle relevant to their individual driving scenarios. The end result of the assessment will provide your vehicle weight relevant to the likely driving scenarios that you will face.

Why not take your car to a specialist at Canowindra Tyre Service to check over all of your tyres to keep you and your family safe. With exceptional service it will make all the difference in keeping you on the road. Other tips suggested by Alison and Tom at Canowindra Tyre Service include:
• Check tyre pressures before heading off  on your holiday.
• For safety you should replace tyres when you only have 2mm wear left.
• Use a match head to check tread. If part of the head shows, it’s replacement time.
• Or use our FREE tread depth card. Get a card when you get tyres.
• Replace tyre caps to keep water and debris out of valves.
• Don’t forget – check the spare too!

With the cooler weather on the way, drop in for a free battery health check at Canowindra Tyre Service and be sure to get regular
wheel balances to improve wet road handling. Rotate tyres when necessary as rotations allow maximum life out of your tyres. It is also a good idea to match treads to the same axle. Mismatching tyres causes handling issues.

With all of this in mind stay safe on the road this Easter and school holidays!
