On Saturday 12th February 2022 the St Edward’s School P&F hosted over 120 riders from the Classic and Enthusiast Motorcycle Club from Orange for lunch and dessert in the school grounds, their first major fundraiser for over two years because of COVID. The Motorcycle club were taking part in their annual Orange Country Bike Rally which sees a number of riders dusting off the vintage and classic bikes from the sheds and riding them from Orange to Canowindra and back again.
The rumble of bikes into the school were greeted by students directing and waving flags showing them where to park for judging.
A feast for over 120 was then served by the hard working P&F Committee. A big thank you must go to all the families from the school who donated their salads and baked goods and time to help serve and clean up on the day.
“Thank you to each and every one on the committee. Today would not have been a rip roaring success without each of you!” said Kristy Crosby, President of the St Edward’s P&F.
After the lunch was served the P&F also ran a 100 Club raffle to raise some extra money to spend on the children. The bike riders were very generous in donating money to the school making it an excellent fundraiser to kick off 2022 for the P&F. The teachers and students of St Eddies will now put together a wish list of resources needed for the new school year.
