Jane Sheldon

Jane Sheldon, New York based and Sydney born soprano is touring the Central West with the Omega Ensemble with performances in Molong, Bathurst Lithgow and Forbes from 8th-12th of July.

The Omega Ensemble formed a partnership with the Mitchell Conservatorium last year to perform annually across regional NSW.

Omega will be performing a diverse selection of works for soprano, clarinet and piano with a program that includes Brahms – Ophelia Songs for soprano and piano, Debussy – Chansons de Bilitis, Poulenc – Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Edwards – Bingyang for solo clarinet and clapping sticks, Spohr – Excerpts from Six German Songs, Rachmaninoff – Vocalise and Schubert – Shepherd on the Rock.

This month at Orange Civic Theatre, a fantastic company of actors will perform ‘Hamlet’, one of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies.

Hamlet is a detailed family portrait into the political landscape of a country furiously preparing for war without realising that the enemy lies within.

“Hamlet is one of the most complete experiences theatre can provide – extraordinary poetry, intense passion, dazzling intelligence, terror, casual slaughter, friendship, humanity, great humour and great grief. Shakespeare casts his spell through the sheer scope and grandeur of this story – beginning with a dead man walking and ending with a stage littered with bodies,” Director Damien Ryan said.

Hamlet is on stage at Orange Civic Theatre 10th-11th of July. Call 6393 8111 to book your tickets for this performance.
